Today I've been dealing with Mr. Murphy, he of the Law we all hate to admit is real. And that got me wondering, I know calling it "Murphy's Law" is recent, but there had to be things that just went all wrong at the wrong times back in Old West days. So, who did they blame it on? Did they label somebody a jinx? Or a bad omen? Or just figure that sometimes shit happened? And has anybody written (or is planning to write) a story that addresses that?
