Originally inspired by the various November writing month challenges and sponsored by the Write 'Em, Cowboys! writers group, Mag7WriMo is has evolved into a daily writing nudge for any and all writers in Mag7 fandom. From time to time, there may also be a "writing month", either during NaNoWriMo in November, or for those who find November to be way too busy to consider writing that novel, during May or June as a Not!NaNo event.
The purpose of Mag7WriMo is to encourage all writers in our fandom, old and new, to work on writing every single day. It doesn't have to be a lot, some people try for as few as 10 new words a day, many aim for at least 100 new words a day. Some are magnificently (get it? magnificently?) productive and write many more than that every day. Whatever our/your level of production, the goal is to write every day.
