Here we are, mid-July. Hot summer in some places, cold winter in others. In the desert southwest, where Mag7 is nominally set, it's hot out. Really hot. 100-plus hot. And, if they're lucky, monsoon rains and flash flooding. Ever wonder why people settled in places like that? Do you think our guys ever wondered why people, like they themselves for instance, settled in a place like that?

When you're writing, do you let the weather/climate in the area have an effect on how the story goes?
